Biography

Stefano is CEO of Humanitas Medical Care, a network of outpatient and diagnostic centres and an innovation hub within the Humanitas Group.


Until early 2024, he served for several years as Group Head of Business Development, Partnerships & Innovation at Generali, where he was responsible for identifying and launching new business initiatives and strategic partnerships globally, working with start-ups and leading companies, including Big Tech players. In this role, he led innovation and transformation initiatives across the Generali Group, with a particular focus on digital transformation. He also designed and led Generali Ventures, a €250 million Venture Capital Fund of Funds, and served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Generali HITS (House of InsurTech Switzerland), as well as holding positions at several other innovative organisations, including Qorus and B3i.


A former strategy consultant, he was a Senior Manager at BCG – The Boston Consulting Group and previously at Oliver Wyman. Earlier in his career, he worked as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and subsequently at Nomura. Alongside his executive career, Stefano is also an equity partner and NED at Moffu, an Italian early-stage VC fund, and a serial angel investor in numerous start-ups.


Stefano holds an MSc, magna cum laude, from Bocconi University in Milan, and has undertaken international study programmes at CBS in Copenhagen, IESE in Barcelona, IMD in Lausanne and MIT online.
