Biography

Giuseppe Costa is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Costa Edutainment S.p.A., a leading Italian company in the management of public and private facilities dedicated to recreational, cultural, educational, and scientific research activities.


Costa Edutainment currently manages in Genoa the integrated Acquario Village system (which includes the Genoa Aquarium, the Galata Sea Museum, the Biosphere, and the Bigo), as well as the Cattolica Aquarium, the Livorno Aquarium, the Oltremare and Aquafan theme parks in Riccione, Italia in Miniatura in Rimini, and Onda Blu in Tortoreto.


He is also Chairman and CEO of Opera Laboratori, a company specializing in the management of museum and cultural services, events, exhibition design, and development. Among its activities, Opera Laboratori manages the commercial spaces of the Vatican Museums, Palazzo Pitti, the Medici Chapels, the Galleria dell’Accademia and Florence Cathedral, Siena Cathedral, and several facilities in San Gimignano.


From 2022 to 2025, he served as Chairman of the Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura in Genoa.


Within Confindustria, he is currently President of the Tourism Section of Confindustria Romagna and Vice President of Confindustria Genova.


In 2018, he was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) by the President of the Italian Republic.
