Traditional knowledge management systems record what has already been formalised. The next step is to build something fundamentally different: a digital representation of an organisation’s living knowledge — a “digital twin” that captures not only processes and procedures, but also decision-making patterns, reasoning paths and context.
The challenge is not merely technical, but structural: how can we ensure data quality without allowing the biases of those who build the system to contaminate what the system is designed to return? And as machines take on an increasingly significant share of cognitive responsibilities, what role remains for humans?
